NOW HIRING: Musical Director

The Groundlings Theatre seeks a Musical Director/keyboard player for improv and sketch comedy shows. We are a performing arts organization, so there is a strong passion (and humor!) for what we do here. We work hard to create an inclusive, kind, and empathetic environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.

Qualified candidates will have experience working as an improvisational pianist, working in a wide variety of musical styles and composing, and will also have excellent communication and management skills in music direction. Experience in musical theatre and cabaret is a plus. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday regular shows available at start for an average of 20-25 hours per week, with additional Mon/Tues shows booked month to month. Paid training and band rehearsal time before the first show.

Must have evening (6pm-12am) and weekend availability. Early Saturday and Sunday call times may be booked based on rehearsal needs. The full band consists of keyboards, guitar, and drums. This is an ongoing position to begin the week of Feb 20th.

Internships

The Groundlings Theatre and School offers quarterly internships to qualified candidates. Candidates must be full-time college students (junior, senior, or graduate school) earning college credit.  Internships are approximately 24 hours per week for 10-12 weeks.
