Weekend Sound Board/Projection Operator

We are looking for a part-time Sound Board & Projection Operator. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in theater productions, be able to quickly build/edit cues, and familiarity with improv comedy is recommended. We have a professional atmosphere and a fast-paced rehearsal process. Paid “hands-on” venue training will be provided prior to the start of scheduled shows.

Schedule: Ongoing Friday and Saturday nights, the current default hours are 6:30 pm to 10:15 pm, and expanding to midnight later in 2022. Earlier call times are possible depending on show rehearsal needs. Availability needed as early as 530pm needed for Fridays, and availability for Saturdays as early as 3 pm for show rehearsals. Additional shows may become available during the month on other nights. Availability in December and January is needed for paid training, weekly shifts begin 1/7/2022.

Skills, Qualifications:

  • Q-Lab software and building cue lists and projection profiles
  • Mackie 24 channel consoles
  • Shure Wireless Handheld and Headset Microphones
  • Connecting and leveling live musicians (keys, drums, and guitar)
  • Live mixing audio levels (vocal and music)
  • MacBook Pro, Gmail, and Dropbox.
  • Candidates must be familiar with current Q-Lab software and noted in a cover letter or on resume for consideration.

Current COVID-19 Precautions:

  • Remote interview process
  • Crew, staff, and audience required to masks on-site at all times
  • Weekly Covid testing and Covid vaccination required for crew and staff
  • Vaccination is required for all crew, staff, audience, and performers. Medical exemptions may be accepted in certain cases.
  • Thorough sanitizing, disinfecting, and cleaning procedures in place for both buildings

Internships

The Groundlings Theatre and School offers quarterly internships to qualified candidates. Candidates must be full-time college students (junior, senior, or graduate school) earning college credit.  Internships are approximately 24 hours per week for 10-12 weeks.
