Groundling alumni Jonathan Stark is from Erie, Pennsylvania. After receiving his B.A. in Art Education, he migrated to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of acting and has since been seen in the films, FRIGHT NIGHT, PROJECT X, HOUSE II, and with fellow Groundling Tim Stack in TALES OF THE CRYPT. In 1991, he began writing for television, penning on such series as CHEERS, THE NANNY, DREW CAREY, and ELLEN, for which he won an Emmy and a George Foster Peabody Award for "The Puppy Episode". In 2001, he co-created, with Groundling alum Tracy Newman, the hit sitcom, ACCORDING TO JIM, which ran for 8 years and 192 episodes. He can currently be seen doing his improv thing at various venues around Los Angeles.
